Amy I need to know how to make "honey wheat" bread..... My bread is already "wheat" how do I make it "honey" without it being to moist?? Any pointers bread Queen??

So the day before my "accident" I tore apart my Living Room and put a first coat of paint on my walls and all trim (except window)with the intention of coming home from the birthday party the next day and doing the second coat:-) My how plans do change eh?!
Well I finished it yesterday..With an almost broken foot you say...well yes, for 2 reasons...
1)IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY to have "stuff" everywhere
And the biggest reason
2)we were having a baby over this morning and she's now mobile..........as in super fast lightening speed crawl her cute self all over this house......

Yes I did put a basket of clean cloths in the picture for effect ;-) AND took a half of a Vicodin, showered and layed on the couch "directing" Chris as to where I wanted pictures and things to go...ahhhhhh, the life :)

p.s. How you like that new couch?? Me, I love having a brand spankin new couch...as in we are it's first ever owners :)

Birthday party/ouchie

3 Days ago I was at a birthday party with Norah where I knew Mom and birthday girl.. Lots of family and family friends were there...
It was at the local YMCA....
Coming down the stairs I thought I was at the bottom.............I was not and ended up "twisting" my ankle.. NOW I probably would have gone down had I not been surrounded by strangers, so I played it off like all was fine but KNEW that it really wasn't.. I did hear "bubble wrap" as it happened and I've never heard that before.
Then about an hour later I had to take off my boot and sock to go into the pool area to watch Norah because she doesn't know how to swim...
I kinda freaked out a bit at the sight before me..it was in fact a "potato".. Then I had to put both sock and boot back on (remember strangers)**almost cried**

walking back to the party room I heard one more "pop" and thought well that wasn't good.......
Mom and sister hooked me up with some crutches and a "boot" so I could get around but if you look in this house you can tell "mom's been out of commission" (ha, poor big kids are out of clean cloths)
Anyway yesterday after resting it during nap time I forgot I had taken boot off and walked to the bathroom. I felt what I can only describe as "crinkly"...not sure what that was but it gave me some shooting pain behind my ankle and a little up my calf......
So long story short, I'm not as young as I used to be, DANGIT!!

As long as I wear my sexy hose and the "boot" I can walk pretty good and just feel really sore.......... I suppose running's out eh?!?!?!?!

THE start of some fun changes

My hallway has been a shade of Royal Blue since we first moved in... The only change that area has seen has been different rugs......

Like the rest of the "walkways" in this house it's very narrow and in desperate need of change........

Tonight I made one Isaac's dreams come true... It made his night...May have even made his YEAR!!!

About 2months ago he tells me this author is going to come to school and he'll get to see and have him sign these "super awesome" books... Well that fell thru and he was devastated...

THEN 2weeks ago I happen to take Ari to Barns and Noble to play with the train and I overhear a staff member telling a customer that he's going to be there for a book signing...

Tonight was the night................................................

THE Jonathan Rand ladies and gentlemen....He came in wearing his glasses, the kids LOVED it... Isaac did say he wished he could see his "actual" eyes :-)

Not 2 minutes later and the little child was inside in tears because "Isaac thru a snowball at my ear" to which I did my best to be sympathetic while saying "buddy, if your hat was on this would not have happened"........ so glad I caught this on film, otherwise I would not have known it was so beautiful before the tears.....

This neat little "chart" is going to **hopefully** end the mommy meltdown morning's as I YELL for the say.....5th time to brush your teeth or brush your hair or get YOUR SHOES ON!! If you do and mark, at the end of the day mom will check that it's finished and you get a piece of candy in your lunch the next day... If you do and forget to mark..............not my problem, your out of luck, if you don't do.....again, no candy for you............

I think the hardest part will be ME keeping my mouth shut and the consequence speaking for itself..... I'm stubborn and will succeed, the children(girl child) the verdict is out.....

The organizational freak otherwise known as "mom" is in love with this bed! No more dresser cuz it all fits in the one side of the bed "leg" and then the other side holds "precious" things like jewelry box's and pictures and books and then the door holds shoes, coats, hoodies!!!!!!!

We both LOVE this and the best part is that by the time the second half comes to us "the other bed" the under part will probably be old and she won't mind it going there OR we just wont use it at this time :-)

I spent the morning bringing EVERYTHING out of Norah's room to prepare for a new to us bed she's getting today...

Back to school they went all snuggled up in snowpants and boots to keep warm.......

Why is it they drive me bonkers when they are all home day in and day out but then once they get out of the van at school I'm so sad....................

I have been so incredibly busy of late! I'm hardly able to read all the awesome blogs I love let alone write on here :( I am entering the world of baby turned child(now that 2 are in school all day) and with that comes new health issues and new learning challenges. I will always make sure my children do not fall thru the cracks and will get what they need, even if I must be a nuisance to schools, doctors, insurance company's... which ends up with me a bit scattered and processing things and praying (a lot) for guidance and wisdom, you know life things............ sigh...........

Along with making the "bones" for the kid's to pass out, I volunteered to help in Isaac's room and bring the apples and dip for Norah's.

I didn't want any old dip(not my style)Instead I made this really awesome(full of healthy stuff) peanut butter dip....

THEN I started thinking about how little people tend to have nasty dirty hands and...................................

The dip is peanut butter, vanilla flavored Greek yogurt, a little honey and cinnamon... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

OH OH OH I didn't want to cut all those apples last minute and didn't want them to brown so I tried cutting them and then "soaking" them (for a long time) in Pineapple Orange juice(that's what I had on hand)
That picture was taken 2hrs AFTER I cut them :) and this morning the 1 remaining apple stick showed just a hint of browning......... SO EXCITED BY THIS........

Ari and I got to play with a 3month old baby yesterday! Can you say mmmmmmmmmmmm, how wonderful, and squishy and yummy that was!

The funniest thing was that Ari kept telling me how "she can't go in my room"! Then "She can't play with my stuff"!!

Then she came over and within 10min he whispers to me "mom, can i keep her in my room"?

AND THEN started fighting with me about wanting to take a nap with her in his bed, BUT MOM, I'M TIRED!! I need a nap, mom!! I'm sleepy too!!!

THEN she'd cry, MOM you need to get her and bring her out here, she's crying, get her!

The little dude would be a darn good big brother... OH well he'll have to settle for daddy someday :)

Hey hey hey, look what I made last night...
I am far from crafty and yet it would seem that the older I get the more crafty I get! I'm all about making from scratch, including my every day bread (HUGE thanks to Amy) and now I'm making other things..

It took me an hour to make it(would probably go faster with a sewing machine, just didn't want to get it out)and the "flower" options are endless.. I love it!

The best part is that it doesn't seem to be hurting my head like most headbands seem to!
I've picked out a blue,red and light purple shirt to make some more.....

I scored a round dining table from my Aunt the other day. For FREE! I have been wanting a round table For-E-V-E-R...
As is my usual fashion I look at it and think, OOOHHHH it will be beautiful, I'll just refinish it and BAM it'll be done.....(like it's no big deal, I have a sander, paper, how hard can it be)

I'm giving it a week and if I'm not happy, why I'll just paint the thing!!! AND I have a feeling that I will be unable to move my arms much tomorrow.......sigh........

One of my girlfriends told me last night that I needed to blog my text message that I sent to her...

I've been watching and waiting and watching and waiting. Measuring and looking and observing and waiting for the explosion. You know the "new school routine and we're all tired" explosion........
As we neared Friday of last week (which by my calculations would be d-day) I was preparing myself with a lot of slow deep breathing, telling myself over and over and over to have patience, asking god to please remember that i need his help most when they get like this but that with his help i CAN keep it together, and will-not-loose-it right along with them(you know like last year when I carried Norah out of a store over my shoulder) I'm shuddering just recalling that peach of a memory!!

Friday came and went, nothing, NOTHING, maybe a bit more picking on each other and bloodshot eye's but nothing worth writing about.... Monday AND Tuesday come and go and a bunch more nothing(maybe Ari a bit more on the asking me to beat him with his tude)but really nothing...
MAYBE I think, it's not going to happen,(see this is where it failed, I started to relax my guard) I did after all prepare Norah for this first year of all day school by having her do pm Kindergarten last year..............

AND THEN WEDNESDAY MORNING HITS........................................

Sigh/deep breath it's gonna be today.....

Isaac tells me he's not getting up and not going to school today...............
3 times he tells me this over the course of 15min. I ask what's bothering him, is there a problem I should be aware of, why he's feeling this way and I get "MOM, NOTHINGS WRONG" "GEESH, I'm just not going to school!!!!!!" THE 4th time I tell him it's time to get up I add "oh and Isaac, I don't have a problem with picking you up and taking you to school with what your wearing under that blanket (undies)..... MAGIC he's up but if looks could kill, from him alone I would have died 6
times before he even went to school not to mention every other LIVING THING in this house.....
While dealing with that I have a FEMALE 6yr old to also get up who has decided "I can't wear either of those outfits, those are FAT pants" ummm WHAT??? I'll deal with that later and who cares, )for the love of all that's holy SOMEONE get dressed and EAT)"that little part was said in my head" go in your undies for all I care just GET DRESSED AND EAT!
I will leave out Ari at this time because all I'm getting is a fit about how he's NOT gonna PEE!
**TICK TICK TICK TICK, IT'S COMING**

At some point in the afternoon after dinner the explosion's start, small at first, little things, I see them slowly progressing and I escape to "do laundry" text my girlfriend who I'm sure has 4 of these beast's at her house.......
And I say:
Norah has already taken 1 nap in a chair(to get out of doing chores,homework,bath)
Isaac is loosing his mind out of his eye balls(because no one likes him or will let him do anything HE wants to do) AND
Ari is BEGGIN me to smack his face every 2 minutes!!!!(because why not, join in and tell mom off over EVERYTHING)

While texting this dear friend I hear daddy raise his voice and something to the tune of "If I hear ANYONE whine at me 1 more time"........................
Give him a few more minutes and I gain all that composure and patience back.......

.......oh ya and fold SOME cloths so it looks like I really was.............

Up I go and dad goes outside, 15 minutes later all the piece's of said children are tucked nicely into bed and kissed goodnight.........

It was 7:30pm

silver lining...........At least we got it over with in 1 day and we weren't in public :-)

Even during night time. He was told that if the diapers were dry every morning thru dad's vacation we would try undies at night.. Soo Starting this past week Tuesday he's been all undies all the time and zero accidents... woo hoo, 10 years of diapers is DONE!!! Let's move on.................

First day of school

I'd like to say the first day of school was calm, cool, transitioned well........but i can't...

I was up past 1230 because I couldn't sleep and was up again at 330 to give Ari some cough meds AND THEN............................I woke up 1 HOUR after my alarm went off!!!
1 WHOLE STINKING HOUR!!!! Got up at 7 and had to leave by 725 to get a parking spot...
So the first day of school was rushed, very cold, not much breakfast eaten, and we made it on time for parking and watched as they grew before my eyes and walked in school with their class.........................

I just sat down to write this post and was thinking about Norah and her first FULL day of school, wondering how she was doing and the teacher sent me this.............

This lady knows how it is and I love her already!!

Now I must go ice the stress out of this neck and shoulder's of mine because you know I have to work tonight too.... :(

The Shedd

The weather over the past 2 weeks here has been AWESOME.. Gone was the 105 degree heat index and in was the 70's maybe even low 80's which ment that as long as you shut your shades when the HOT sun was coming in them you could be AC free and loving it.....
We decided to take a day trip to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago... Wouldn't you know it, back came the 105 degree heat index!!
Being the super smart woman that I am, as we set out I shut all the window's and turned the AC on...
This trip is 3+ hours each way, oh ya and the AC went out in the van... You know how it is, you have a priority list when it come's to money and that just wasn't at the top...
Sure wish it was about 30min into the trip....

Did I mention that 2 days before this trip I overhear Ari and Chris talking about how Ari is sure he doesn't want to wear diapers any-more and that he wont go potty in his undies.. I then chime in that if this is really happening that there is no turning back this time, no more back to diaper's if there is an accident... Then I look at Chrs and mumble under my breath, you guys couldn't wait 2 more days to have this conversation.... DANG

We all know that the toddler in the house sets the tone for how days, trips are going to go... Ari was a ROCK STAR!!! We wouldn't have even needed a movie except for the fact that dang, i just wanted him to stop talking for a bit ;)
The aquarium was fantastic, what a nice place, set up... We got to see sooooo much :) only advice I have it to really make it worth it defiantly get the "go in everything" tickets and bring your own food!

We ALL agree this was the best part of the day(I know, sad right) the Dora and Diego 4-D movie. Chrs even had a permagrin the entire 15min movie... You had awesome 3D affects along with wind when you needed it, smells at the right time, vibrating seats for landing, water when splashes... Really well done :)

Not much to post as of late..... I guess I've just been in a bit of a blogging funk.. The chore chart and followup dollar store visit has been a HUGE success!! I love not having to sound like a dictator and things still get done... It's the end of the month already and Isaac was quick to tell me that means a movie or dinner or something real special for a month of good tude about chores... Oh and I've started a new policy around here, if you like and value your things I wont find them on the floor, so if I find things on the floor I will assume that you don't care for that item and either throw it away or donate it... It's just starting to catch on with them that I mean it :)
Chris is on vacation all this week, I think he will even be home the kiddo's first day of school, this next week Tues.... Yes we are the last to start it seems..... We went to orientation tonight and I like both teachers and can't wait... Norah will be a first grader, how does that happen??
I'm going to be the chauffeur of a 4th grader and a 1st grader with a 3yr old sidekick.... how did I get here....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We are going to "The Shedd Aquarium" this week, so excited, I'll try to remember to take pictures:)

I just dispatched 4 children from my house and the kiddo's are in bed for the night, time to go fold some laundry... Have a good night all.....................

So this past Tuesday Norah did something I didn't expect to see/think about/try to process/discipline... This child, after once again refusing to empty the dishwasher and starting to pit the tantrum I didn't feel like dealing with said she was going to go to her room "to rest" which usually means to sleep until we wake her up.
Keep in mind that Isaac was reading to me while I was getting ready for work and Ari was...............doing something.... Once Isaac finished and went to put his book away he says "Hey, where is everybody" I say with a smile in my voice, everybody is right here buddy, me, you, Ari, and Norah is in her bed....

WHAT?!!!! How did she get there, (light bulb) Oh no she didn't!! Oh yes she did. My 6yr old daughter climbed out her window and if not for the locked gate across the driveway she could have been gone for a ride!!!!!

We went to a wedding this past weekend. It was 2.5 hours away. We brought only our daughter:) SHE loved it!

So after my last bout with the miss regarding doing something I asked/told her to do and the tantrum that forced me to do something I swore I never would do(darn me for saying I would bc then I'm forced to follow thru) I've been looking to ways to get the proper behavior vs. the "other" method(that I will NEVER do again).

I created a fun, neat, easy, not overwhelming "chore chart". It is easy enough, you do your day's worth of chores and come the following week we will take a trip to the dollar store. If you do not then you will watch the other kiddo's get 1 thing from the dollar store.
AND THEN at the end of a month a special treat will be rewarded(provided all have done the months chores) to all with a trip out to dinner(the whole family) or dinner and a movie or maybe get pizza and rent a movie(final decision is up to mom and dad)

Everyone seems to be on board with this plan and so far it's working pretty well. Ari of course is 3 and can't just be told to "empty the dishwasher" so mom or dad need to help him with his but he's doing them I'm happy to say.

The one thing that I noticed and NEVER realized until I made the "rough draft" of this chart is that our kiddo's initial's make IAN. You know my angel..... That was pretty cool and I don't know why it took me 4 years to realize it...

On Saturday morning we went to a local "park" that has a beach and splash pad.....

I had a hard time picking just one from here to post.......

This would be the beach when we were there. It was slowly filling up the later it got. Glad we were leaving before to long...
Saturday afternoon/evening I had a bachlorette party for a girlfriend to go to... I did in fact skate out after the dinner portion of the evening when the "mom's" did (I know boring) but hey I had to serve in early church and a long day of travel to look forward to the next day....

Sunday we chose to spend a large majority of the day stuck in a van that chose to have the air conditioning stop working during our travels..... We went to spend a few hours with Chris's brother and family to celebrate the younger lovely's early 4th birthday. They are moving to China, Today as a matter of fact, for the next 3-5 years(sounds like a jail sentence when you say it out loud:)) It was a lot of fun and even though we were in 2 traffic jams on the way home and it took about an hour longer and EVERYONE in said hot mess of a vehicle was ON EDGE and fighting and whining and not sleeping AT ALL I'd do it again in a heartbeat......

Safe safe safe travels extended family... Looking forward to December... You know cuz I wont be visiting for any type of long weekend......

Seriously, at this exact moment in time I'm in the process of moving the tv (and all that accompanies it) to the other side of the room and then the big leather recliner will take up the tv's old position.

AND currently I have most of the basement stairs and partial walls painted(1 side needs the second coat) and a little more than half the wallpaper removed from the front entrance way and I keep thinking about doing the upstairs hallway(want to scrape and paint) so that I can put up some pictures.......

You know everything I have ever heard or read says to get your kids to eat more veggies to have them take part in the growing process.. Well that's exactly what I've done for the past 2 years. We go to the store, pick out the seeds we want and plant them and water them and pluck them when ready and you know what.........................
They wont touch any of our veggies any more than the store bought variety......sigh.......

Having never grown carrot's I decided to check and see how mine are growing.....

Raspberry jam is a very close second to Cherry in our family..

I am not sure what happened so different from the rest (except that I used a different recipe for each fruit and this one didn't call for cooking the fruit)but the raspberry jam didn't "set" and it's much to sweet. I feel like it's a waste of expensive fruit but am trying really hard to not let that get the best of me.
I know we will eat it regardless but still, the Blueberry and Cherry turned out AWESOME and we will enjoy them for months to come just wish the "expensive" fruit would have turned out also.
It's not easy making mostly seedless jam........

This is the juice from all of them... Had enough left over to make "raspberry syrup" for our breakfast for dinner that night(YUMMMMM)

Norah said the seeds looked like ground beef (not so yummmm)

AND our waste of jam that taste's like raspberry flavored sugar.....sigh....

So yesterday I took the kiddo's berry picking at one of the many local U-Pick places....
This was our take home..........
I have been wanting for years to make homemade jam's and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try my hand at it...
1 child to pick out stems.
1 child to measure out the rest of the ingredients
1 child to mash the fruit....
1 mom to make them all leave the super duper small itty bitty kitchen so she could finish least she kill one or more children before it's done......

Turns out I can make some super yummy Blueberry jam, 7 small jars of it :) We will be returning to pick many more Raspberries(tomorrow) because apparently you need LOTS of them to make jam.......
My one question so far is can I just mash up the raspberry's and then force thru a "sifter" to get out a bunch of the seeds?? I don't have one of those presses to do it for me......

I have 2 observations that I'd like to share with all 5 of you...... Both of these were made either yesterday or today and they are NEAT!

1)After foolishly trying to dry a load of wash 2 separate times on 2 different temperatures I realized the bigger picture and pulled out the dryer to find a "swim hole" behind it with the water slide emptying onto the floor... YEA ME!!
Apparently while my 2 youngest were outside yesterday re-creating the "water park" with the hose and anything within reach they also thought that strange hole in the house might want to become a water slide....

2) While using the downstairs bathroom yesterday afternoon I happened to look at the sink and on the counter next to it the top to my Night Time face creme looked dirty... Hmmmmm I opened it and to my utter shock and horror it appeared almost completely empty!!!
I immediately felt sick and nauseous, you see I just recently started using night time face creme and it's the one expense I allow myself(along with the daytime creme).. This particular jar is 30.00 for 1.7oz..... needless to say it was one I used as little as possible while achieving the desired results AND it was an almost full jar....... I'm almost in tears just reliving it...
Oh and guess where SHE used it..........yes all OVER her legs, it seems they are very full and youthful looking legs, I'm jealous.......................

Last week I invited a teenager into my home for a few days.

Picked her up on Wednesday morning and brought her home Saturday afternoon.(some of you know how awesome a lone teenager is when you have many little people:))

Would you believe I forgot to take pictures THE entire time! I KNOW!! The last day we did what all family's that have a fish geek in them do, we went to the fish geek family summer picnic:)
Chrs remembered the camera thankfully and this is the one and only picture I have of the lovely Kelly!
My kids love her, I love her and Chrs calls her "feisty"

******* SPECIAL ALERT, SPECIAL ALERT******* That which I thought would never happen and quite frankly stopped even hoping for, did indeed happen today, 2 times and THE child was not prompted!!
My 3yr old who turned 3 the end of March, used the potty today, 2 times!!! First time he actually ran to me, mom I have to poop and did so on the potty and then he peed. Second time said child ran into the potty and walked up to the toilet at peed!! WHO HOOOOO he may be "house trained" ;) before winter after all!!!!!!!!

Last weekend we went to the Big Ticket Festival and I'm posting pictures of what my kiddo's would say was the best part of the entire day :)
You know I haven't had an elephant ear in I don't even know how long so when I heard that Chrs and Isaac were going to get one I said "hey get 2"... Well they have ruined them folks, RUINED! You can now get toppings! TOPPINGS?! that should be cinnamon and sugar greasy awesomeness with the possibility of powered sugar (which I never got) but NOOOOOOOOOOO they came back with this thing that had "Bavarian creme" on it! I couldn't even eat it.....

I love love love my new Reel Mower! Not only do I love it but I LOOOVVVVEEEEE IT! It is really easy to use, as in just pushing a little bit and it's good! It only becomes a challenging workout if you wait to long in between mowing, but then all you need to do is raise the blade up a notch or 2... I LOVE how I can mow with my kids and dogs in the yard without worry (it really is a huge % of child related injury's for 7 and under) I also LOVE the fact that I can mow and talk to my kiddo's in a normal pitch, No yelling, no saying WHAT, no need to turn it off to answer a question and then back on... I LOVE IT!! Never has mowing been such a peaceful experience........

First off you should know that in our home the dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture! This is non-negotiable..

Did I mention I purchased for a mere $5.00 the book Simplicity Parenting and since starting this book(that I love) I have been "going thru things" to say the least... I really feel overwhelmed every-single-day of every-single-week of every-waking-hour when I'm in this house!! I have been for a LOOONNNNGGGG time and it's not doing my health any good!!

The school year is coming to a close(so excited) I CAN'T WAIT for a less scheduled day, CAN'T WAIT!!!

Today was Roman day for Isaac and they did a ton of "Roman" things and ate Roman type foods. It was fun.

Tomorrow is Field day for Isaac and then the much anticipated Talent Show(I hope to get good video or pictures of his turn)
Then next week we have Norah's end of year "party" and Kindergarten graduation. Isaac also has an end of year party.... So much and so little time....
So here's the picture recap of the last few days....
My brand spankin new lawn mower!! So in love!! Not only am I now VERY earth friendly but I also can mow around my kids and dogs without fear of something horrible happening AND it's not an assault on my ears, huge bonus!!
This is the problem I AM having with my mower:) He is constantly trying to take it out front to mow AND he keeps telling me it's dads! Buddy it's mine and NOT a toy, it's a machine and you must not play with it....

The other day this happened. I went outside to water my hanging baskets before going in to fold some laundry and it seems I had a change of plans when my glass table up and literally EXPLODED right behind me... Turns out broken glass in the sun sounds a lot like popcorn popping...
After school today we met up with Isaac's teacher from last year(she's in town for a little over a week)at a park/playground along with several of our friends from old school.. What fun we had with everybody and as usual Mrs. Floeter was the biggest hit... Here she's playing tag and getting Norah

Then they decided to play red rover red rover and Emma(who likes Isaac)is in blue running over :) I love how they included the little kids too...........

On the sunburn front, it's been 3 days and it's still VERY red and it feels like little needles are pricking me ALL OVER ALL THE TIME!
I'm gonna get skin cancer for sure now :(
I'M OFF to fold laundry and go to bed.......

It has become apparent to both myself and Chrs that we have become a bit to what I want in the scheme of things... With Chrs working the 2 jobs he puts in a LONG day everyday but Tues.(because I go to work) and that only leaves him about 3hrs of awake time with the kiddos and to much of that time has been spent doing things not child related. He is not the only guilty one either. Sooooo we talked and decided that unless it is absolutely necessary we will not be going on the computer when the children are awake and he wont be doing fish maintenance until they are in bed.... We also are making a conscious effort to do more family things vs. our usual pattern of I need to go do this and I'll take 1or 2 kids and then when I get home you can go do ____......

I already see a difference in both of our stress levels :) This would be the reason for such a long time from my previous post cuz you know they are always around and awake ;)

After all they only want to be with us for so long before we are banished to the house without them right... The way I see it we only have 4ish years with Isaac already!!!!!

It seems as though my world is upside down in the "me time" dept. It can be exhausting being a servant :)
Lets see, a recap of sorts:
This past Monday I went for my usual walk with my new and dearest friend Sarah, we walk at Cornerstone on their campus path.. This past week as we're going by the big pond I see goldfish/koi, whatever you want to call them, they are all carp...

I don't think anything of it but she calls me over to see, apparently they are like the Salmon when they do the Salmon run, these fish are swimming up stream fighting to get up to and in the pond thru this (for lack of a better word) pipe.

See Sarah works at this college and in the past took great pleasure in watching them "do their thing" only problem is that now no one cleans up the pond and stream each spring so all the dead vegetation has backed up into this pipe and there is no way thru.

** At this point I say, why couldn't you just let us pass by this, now I know and wont sleep as I think of how to save these living creatures from certain death!! Dangit**

See these fish are going to die of exhaustion trying to get thru an impossible pipe or the ones much farther down stream will die once the water recedes enough into the ground....

Tues. morning bright and early, I meet her there with 2 kids and she has a dog (no dogs on campus)that she's watching for a friend. We put the dog in a stroller and hide him with blankets and then take 2 kids and buckets and nets and off we go...

2hrs later and covered in mud(to my knees and Sarah to mid thigh) we have saved more than 20 of the buggers :-)
**I left feeling really good and feeding the remaining fish a good sinking pellet food**

Our plan is to go back tomorrow to see if we can get the rest. We ended up with fish that were "on to us" and as soon as we would step in the stream they were gone....

Tonight at school is Talent Show tryouts and Isaac has decided to tryout. I was so surprised and excited and happy when he told me he had signed up for this... I asked what he was going to do and he said "why play my guitar of course"!! Tryouts for him are tonight at 4:55 and apparently they will let you know on Monday with a sheet posted somewhere in school.. I am so very excited that he WANTS to do this, it is so far removed from how I or Chrs were at his age. I love seeing how our kids are turning out so very different than us, maybe both parents in the home does make a positive difference in more ways than the obvious... I just hope he makes it!

THEN I did some research to see if I could find something closer, it's insane how awesome IKEA is on price. The closest I could find was about 100. MORE and the one I did like was 800. HOLY COW!!!
I hardly slept last night,and probably wont tonight either..........

I think there is a secret universal thing that happens to us when we become mothers....We easily become cheerleaders of kids, not just our kids mind you but all kids who are trying something new or just plain trying REALLY hard....
An example, while at the school carnival I passed a young man from Isaac's class and said "hi Chauncey"(learned his name the first 30sec. of my first time serving lunch, why bc he's so hyper his tush NEVER stayed in his seat for more than 2sec.)
ANYWAY he says to me this big long winded something about how he did this game and it went in the last bucket on his first try and he did it 2times in a row and no one else had etc. The jist of it was that he's a rock star so I say something like "THAT'S AWESOME, WAY to go buddy"!!

Little man was winning EVERY game he played, not just "good try, here's a prize" but actually winning. He won the cake walk the first time we did it :)
We went back one more time and wouldn't you know it he won again AND SO DID I, woo hoo!!

This is where the cheerleading comes into play, This is her second try, the first one went in the hole ever so slowly and went out the back, hit the wall came back into the whole and out again. The 2 ladies and myself groaned quite loudly with all that with the oooooooooooo.... By now she's 3 shades of red (probably from embarrassment) and this one went right in and stayed there and all 3 of us ladies instinctively raised our arms up in the "touchdown" pose and shouted something good like WOO HOO, way to go!!

I think this may have been the littler 2's fav. part of the whole night. We had to park somewhere else(you know parking is an issue right?) and they had 2 trolley's taking people back and forth, this was on the way back.......
